Outback Bowl Mascots

Bloomin' Man and Coconut Shrimp Girl started as a goof and quickly became a yearly tradition. I created the idea of Bloomin' man, an anthropomorphic appetizer that was everyone's buddy and embodied the brand's current campaign, "No Rules, Just right!". We announced the character at the Taste of Chicago, where he was a hit. For the Outback Bowl Watch and Win, Bloomin' man was joined by Coconut Shrimp Girl shortly after. The duo asked sports fans to pick a side by cheering on #teambloominonion or #teamcoconutshrimp. The best part about no rules is that everyone's a winner no matter who you choose.

Ranked #2 Favorite Mascot

During their six-year run as the Outback Bowl Mascots, they appeared at events, in display ads, print and tv spots. Bloomin' Man was voted one of the top three mascots by sbnation.com. The costume also received a registered trademark with the USPTO.
